How to give a powerful TEDx talk!
TEDx talk guidelines
TEDx (and TED - the "grown up" version) talks are all about spreading great ideas. They are about passion, purpose, fun, creativity, curiosity and even about evoking others to take action! Follow the "big three" below and you'll be a rockin' success! CLICK HERE FOR A GREAT ARTICLE ON HOW TO GIVE A KILLER PRESENTATION!
Number One - tell a storyThe best TED talks are stories that draw the viewer/listener in. They are shared experiences. They evoke a wide range of emotions and contain a "hook", a development of the story and a "big finish."

Number Two - use picturesSome TED talks are simply a powerful speaker on a stage telling a story. Using gripping or descriptive pictures, graphics or short video clips, however, can help tell your story in an even more compelling way. NO VERBIAGE! This is NOT a classroom "lesson!" You are not creating a powerpoint to teach facts or concepts! Your images should tell a powerful story on their own and be used only to enhance the story you are telling (which is always the main focus).
|
Number Three - less is moreTED talks are limited to 18 minutes MAXIMUM! Your talk needs to be at LEAST six minutes, but never more than eighteen. Use the Ernest Hemmingway approach - less is more! Slow down in your delivery and make each word count!
